Cilla Grossmeyer-Abileah, born in Germany and living in Israel, belongs to the forefront of Israel's performing musicians.
She has performed with most of Israel's major orchestras under the batons of Zubin Mehta, Gary Bertini, Lukas Foss, Karl Münchinger
and others. She often integrates instruments in her recitals, such as cello, flute, guitar and recorder.
Known in Europe for her yearly concert tours with Israeli chamber music groups, she is also well known for her church concerts with
organist Elisabeth Roloff, radio and television recordings, a series of CDs and audiocassettes.
Cilla Grossmeyer-Abileah performs widely together with piano accompanist Zvi Semel. Their extraordinary repertoire covers art songs from the
Baroque to modern times; for example Lieder, Israeli Art Song (some of which were dedicated to Cilla Grossmeyer-Abileah), folk
songs from many countries, songs in Ladino and Yiddish and others.
For several years Mrs. Grossmeyer-Abileah has been a voice teacher for some of Israel's most talented young singers. She is the
vocal coach for the Cantorial Students at the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem, as well as for the soloists of the Ankor Children's
Choir at the Rubin Academy in Jerusalem.
Cilla Grossmeyer-Abileah studied at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem with Juliette Medioni and attended master classes
with Hilde Zadek and Jenny Tourel.
